WHERE IT ALL STARTED…

Master Banks has been training and teaching in the martial arts for the past thirty-four years. He started in December of 1973 in Okinawa, Japan, while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Schwab. From this fantastic experience, he relocated to oceanside California, where his training in Shotokan Karate began. In May of 1975, Master Banks came back to Cleveland and began his Taekwondo career. He was trained under Master Jamall Oden for two years before entering the Army. He then trained in the art of Gōjū-ryū in El Paso, Texas, under Renshi Edward Adams until being reassigned to Germany. After successful Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield tours, he retired from the Armed Forces. Master Banks teaches Gōjū-ryū and both the Original and Olympic Styles of Taekwondo. His school has won and continues to succeed in local and National Tournaments.

Master Banks takes great pride in his family and his students.
